What is GOALNEWS?

GOALNEWS is a digital magazine dedicated to American soccer.

We cover the people, teams, leagues, competitions, organizations, history, culture and issues shaping the game in the United States—from the USMNT and USWNT to MLS, NWSL, U.S. Soccer, Concacaf competitions and the broader American soccer community.

But GOALNEWS is about more than reporting what happened.

We help readers understand why it happened, why it matters and what comes next.

That’s why our promise is simple:

Proud of American Soccer.

Stay Informed. Speak With Confidence.

Do I need to be a soccer expert to enjoy GOALNEWS?

Not at all.

In fact, one of GOALNEWS’s purposes is to make American soccer easier to understand.

You may be a lifelong supporter, a new fan discovering the sport, a parent whose child plays soccer, someone coming from another country’s soccer culture, or simply someone who became curious about the game during the World Cup.

GOALNEWS brings the important pieces together and provides the context that helps you understand what you’re reading.

You don’t need to arrive as an expert.

We want GOALNEWS to help you become a more informed fan.

What does GOALNEWS cover?

Our primary editorial focus is American soccer—men and women.

That includes the USMNT, USWNT, MLS, NWSL, U.S. Soccer, domestic competitions, Concacaf, American players and coaches, international competitions involving American soccer, and important developments affecting the growth of the game in the United States.

We also cover history, fan culture, major decisions, controversies, achievements and the people and organizations helping shape the sport.

International soccer enters our coverage when it helps our readers better understand American soccer and its place in the global game.

Does GOALNEWS cover women’s soccer as much as men’s soccer?

That commitment is fundamental to who we are.

Women’s soccer is not a special section added to GOALNEWS when a major tournament comes around. The USWNT, NWSL, women’s competitions, players, coaches and developments in the women’s game are part of our regular editorial responsibility.

American soccer has a men’s story and a women’s story.

We believe both deserve to be told.

What do I receive with GOALNEWS membership?
